Kids in the Kitchen is a fun, interactive, and educational class designed to teach children ages 6-12 years old the basics of nutrition and healthy eating habits through hands-on cooking experiences. This program will empower kids with practical skills in food preparation & kitchen safety, help build awareness of healthy food choices, and encourage lifelong wellness habits in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

Class is limited to 10 participants per session!

Students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. The program is designed to prepare students for their first steps towards independence.

This program is offered in partnership with SSM Health Monroe Hospital and Clinics.

Open to children in grades 4th-6th.

Safe Sitter® is a one-day program that prepares students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Lifesaving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking & helpful information such as what to do in severe weather. Fun activities, role-playing exercises and using CPR mannequins to practice choking rescue and CPR. This program is offered in partnership with SSM Health Monroe Hospital and Clinics.

Join us in the Healthy Living Kitchen for Storytime and a healthy snack! Kids will get to enjoy a story from Miss Tiff and themed snack. Depending on the week, kids may have the opportunity to make/assemble their own snack.

Ages: 6 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
