Come learn about this important paperwork that everyone should have on file with their healthcare system. This paperwork identifies who you would like to make medical decisions for you if you are ever unable to do so yourself. There is no law in Wisconsin that allows next of kin to automatically do this without an HPOA. The necessary forms will be available to complete for both Wisconsin and Illinois residents. This workshop is FREE for all Green County Family YMCA Members and offered by SSM Health Monroe Hospital and Clinics.

Grief Circle

All Locations
10/21/25 - 11/25/25
VIEW

This group is for those who are grieving the death of a loved one. Many people who are grieving feel pressure to keep their grief to themselves. This is a place to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences – where you can talk about your loss with other people who are also grieving. Sometimes, friends and family, although well-intentioned, may not understand the meaning of your loss and the depth of your pain. The support of others on the same journey can bring a great deal of comfort and healing. This program was created by the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse.

About the Instructor
The Grief Circle will be led and facilitated by Carol Zach, Spiritual Director, Registered Nurse and Certified Counselor. Carol has worked as a nurse in homecare, and in both palliative and hospice. Even though she retired from the VA as a palliative/hospice nurse, she decided to continue working as a nurse part-time. She loves being with people and families. Grief is often difficult to share with friends and family. Her desire is to create a safe space to share freely.
